Nudge is always needed

I am prepping myself for this article for more than three weeks.I don’t want to voice out myself until i felt like it is making a difference.I started listening to the people keenly either during a car pool or a office chit chat.Finally got this two options to write .one is about “how different people literally take in every moment of life?- chirpy giggling girl vs pseudo nerd vs mediocre employee ” Or “Specialist who does the job vs Manager who delegates the job-who need to matters the most to an organisation and how they need to see themselves at the end of the road”

I choose the second one as i had exposure of multiple scenarios for the similar case.

Answering to the first question.The people who add value to the chain of productivity in an organisation need to matter the most.Consider a Joe working in a news paper industry. He does the same job like switching on the machine and just keep it running to deliver paper on time to customer apart from that by does a toilsome work like taking care of its maintenance and attending it breakdown.There is sam who is floor manager who bridges between the machine shop and the editorial team to keep production going.

One day the printing machine suddenly broke down and there is small time to recover without disturbing the schedule of the paper outflow.in one case the specialist get machine repaired and delivered it in time to keep schedule inline with plan.In other case floor manager just called the other shop floor to get it done and arranged logistics to get them in the place on time.Consider yourself the boss of that news paper and answer question “who is most valuable to you?”

To help you..they had given your organisation same monetary and brand benefit at the end of the day.Just answer before reading next.

It may be tough choice to you but organisations do it easily by choosing sam. they see sam as a horse that won race now and they believe it can win another race in another field on another day. Joe is a horse who holds the end and keep it for now.At the end of the day you’re not only valued by your current work rather by your capacity in future.

What mattered to most to us is how sam and Joe see themselves in the end.In some cases Joe behave as quarrelsome, jealous ,cursing himself and others.On the other end sam as fulfilled by keeping Joe in the same place.We encounter similar people in our workplace come whatever the industry.We want people like Joe need to themselves “for what he really want from the job and get himself the out of burden of chase by either getting paid more or free vacations or better work times”.we want sam to “choose a better apprehension and better arena to get the fulfillment that suit his capabilities”.

To become successful,organisations need to use recognition,awarding,apprising,development techniques to address this simple most common employee dynamics in organisation for the inclusion of values like integrity and one team.
